Is Self Tanner Safe? A Dermatologist-Backed Answer

DHA has been on the dermatology research record since the 1950s and approved for topical cosmetic use by the FDA since 1977. Half a century later the safety profile is well-established: topical use, on intact skin, is considered safe. The legitimate cautions are localised — inhalation during spray application, sensitivity on broken skin, and the standard pregnancy guidance to confirm with a GP.
