Develop time is the period between applying self tan and rinsing off the guide colour, during which DHA reacts with skin and the tan colour forms.

Shorter develop = lighter result. Longer develop = deeper colour. Most Australian Glow shades develop in 4–8 hours; Light reads natural at 2–4 hours, Ultra Dark hits full depth at 6–8 hours, often slept in.
